When we first started on this project, we wanted to incorporate Selin’s musical knowledge into our learning principle. Since we had LED’s to add in a “flashy” factor, we combined both light and sound through the common physics of frequencies. Our idea was to demonstrate how both light and sound waves mark its distinction from low to high.
Using two Arduinos, we constructed a piano with LED’s and buttons for the seven notes.

We then came up with instructional musical sheets to encourage learners to come up with their own melodies.
Then we came up with a keyboard as well that used Capacitive Touch as input rather than the buttons to make the learners feel like they are actually playing around with a piano.
